He was predeceased by: his wife Rita Johnston Pryor; his son Gibson Johnston Pryor; and his siblings, James Jarratt Pryor, Jr., Louise Elizabeth "Betty" Pryor and Anna May Cobb.

He is survived by: his wife Jackie H. Pryor of Fitzgerald; his children, Gerald H. Pryor (Maritza), Rebecca Pryor Anderson (Tim) and James Jarratt Pryor, II (Brenda); his daughter-in-law Malinda West Pryor of Columbus; his grandchildren, Jerry Pryor, Lauren, Leslie McIntosh, Andrew, John Pryor, West Pryor, Merritt, Russell Pryor, Lisa, Owen Pryor, Tomek Sulkowski, Katie Ruth NeSmith, Josh, Addison Pryor, Corbin Pryor and Elizabeth Pryor; and his stepsons, Cal Miller, Kathleen Miller of Macon and Jeff Miller. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
