We bid farewell to Ellen Perdue Bettis of Fayetteville, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on February 24, 2025 at the age of 81. Ellen Perdue touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Magnus Perdue and Lucille Perdue; her former husband Lonnie Huffman; and her sisters, Jane Dunnahoo and Dotsy Perdue.
She is survived by: her husband Bettis; her daughters, Angela Dixon, Wendy Johnston (Sam), Dotsy Huffman and Laura Benefield (Seth); her grandchildren, Jake Dixon (Jordan), Sara Dearing (Kyle), Anna Redding (Will), Mary Pederson (Anders), Sam Johnston (Yuriko), Jane Benefield and Dorsey Benefield; her great grandchildren, Wade Dearing, Luca Redding and Harper Dixon; and her siblings, Steve Perdue (Patsy), Rita Nicholson (Nick), John Perdue (Gail), Teresa Lowe (Ronnie) and David Perdue (Linda). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church (205 Stonewall Ave E, Fayetteville, GA 30214). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Glenwood Cemetery (320 S Bethel St, Thomaston, GA 30286).
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ellen's memory to the Piedmont Cancer Center, the Lupus Foundation of America, or the American Kidney Foundation.
