Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Donald leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Merkison and Elsie Mae Merkison; and his sister Louise Merkison Crews. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Merkison (Daughtry); his sons, Devin Merkison and Landry Merkison (Sandi); his grandsons, Colin Merkison and Evan Merkison (Anna); and his brother Doyle Merkison (Levenia). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Liberty Baptist Church (1077 GA-314, Fayetteville, GA 30214). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Liberty Baptist Church, 1077 Hwy 314, Fayetteville, GA 30214.
