He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Carter and Emma Carter. He is survived by: his wife Sherri Carter; his children, Amber Conkle (Kraig) of Jones County and Don "Trey" Carter, III (Kalyn) of Suffolk, Virginia; his siblings, Lenn Fincher of Macon and Joseph Carter of Gray, Georgia; and his grandchildren, Naomi, Jaida, Kody, Hadley, Colton, Mason and Warren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 18th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hart's Mortuary Jones County Chapel (307 Pecan Ln, Gray, GA 31032). A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 19th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Elam Baptist Church (203 Elam Church Rd, Gray, GA 31032). A graveside service was held on Thursday, September 19th 2024 at the Elam Memorial Gardens (203 Elam Church Rd, Gray, GA 31032).
