It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Janet Champion Whitener of Fairmount, Georgia, born in Fort Benning, Georgia, who passed away on March 18, 2023, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her mother Marcelle McHugh Champion of Fairmount; and her husband Nick Whitener of Fairmount. She is survived by: her father Von Champion; her sisters, Cindy Champion Seabolt of Fairmount and Vonda Champion Miller (Roger, Jr.) of Fairmount; her cousins, Jennifer Champion Jarrett (Kirk) of Calhoun and Kathy Champion Bunch (Allan) of Fairmount; her aunt Linda Foster (Dave) of Calhoun; her nephew Roger Miller, III; her nieces, Ella and Claire Seabolt; and her uncles, Billy Champion (late Jackie), Jack Champion (Gail) and Joe Champion, Jr. (Shirley) of Fairmount. She is also survived by her family, friends, co-workers.
