He was predeceased by: his wife Virginia Mulkey Rampley; and his son David Lamar Rampley. He is survived by: his children, Jimmy Rampley of Ranger, Ronnie (Julie Rampley), Cricket (Larry Brown) and Gina (James Ridings); his brother Van; his sister-in-law Charlene Rampley of Ranger; his sisters, Pearl Childers of Ranger, Connie Ratcliff of Waleska, Vona (Herman Mulkey) and Charlotte (William Fortner); and his close friend Jackie Hightower of Fairmount. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
