He was predeceased by: his parents, William Cleveland and Ruby Mae Liles Hightower; his wife Reba Ann Minnis Hightower; and his siblings, Frances, Dewey, Leon and Cellie.

He is survived by: his son Jeffery Fred (Melissa Sisk Hightower). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Haisten Funerals & Cremations (1745 S Zack Hinton Pkwy, McDonough, GA 30253). A memorial service was held on Sunday, December 15th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Holly Hill Memorial Gardens (359 SW Broad St, Fairburn, GA 30213).

“Sending all my love Thoughts and prayers out to Mr. Fred's family and friends. I only knew Mr. Fred for 3 days as I just started as a caregiver at Autumn Village. I only had one conversation with him in those three days because of him losing his verbal abilities. But in that one conversation I could tell he was the sweetest man and had a great heart and was a great man. I know he will be truly missed. My prayers and heart goes out to Jeff and Melissa.
