He was predeceased by: his parents, James Robert Long and Montelle Morris Long; and his wife Brenda Sue Dye. He is survived by: his children, Jennifer Cook (Gregory), Jeffrey Long and James Long (Tina); and his grandchildren, Sean, Sarah, Sabrina, Audrey, Taylor, Lauren, Julianna, Levi and Austin.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Parrott Funeral Home & Crematory (8355 Senoia Rd, Fairburn, GA 30213). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 15th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In recognition of his significant contributions to aviation safety, he was honored with The Wright Brothers "Master Pilot" Award, a prestigious accolade reflecting his dedication and expertise in the field.
