It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerald Powell Spence Sr. (Evans, Georgia), who passed away on May 8, 2023, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Embree and Velma Powell Spence; and his brothers, Herbert E. Spence, Jr. (Sonny) and Curtis Spence. He is survived by: his wife Elfriede "Elfie" Kaehler; his children, Gerald Spence, Jr. (Barbara), Glen Spence (Brenda), Brenda Alvarez (Carlos) and Mike Spence; his stepson Edward Grimm; his grandchildren, Shane Nikolic (Kimberly), Justin Nikolic (Mayra), Jon Spence (Patricia), Brianna Spence, Christopher Spence (Meghan), Ian Grimm, Joshua Grimm, Ethan Sharpe, Kayla Sharpe, Kera Wheeler and Brian Wheeler; and his great grandchildren, Peyton, Annaliese, Ephraim Nikolic, Lucas, Apollo Nikolic, Paisley Spence, Kiley, Lochlan, Elowyn, Bowen, Ciesher Spence, Easten, Alister, Daviney and Ethan Weaver.
