She was predeceased by: her parents, Jake Othenile Gibbs and Theta Elizabeth Barnes Gibbs; her husband Albert Swails; her son Bobby Swails; and her sisters, Montreal Coker and Marian Bryant.
She is survived by: her children, Shirley (Rudy Smith), Barbara (Bobby Paulk) and Debbie (Randy Gibbs); and her grandchildren, Ann (Mike Jenkins), Cathy McNair, Dana (Bryan Basso), Dena (Dave Stainback) and Keith (Casey Gibbs). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
