She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruel Elijah Barfield and Roxie Harper Barfield; her husband Jack Clarence "JC" Howell; and her siblings, R. L. Barfield, Hollis Barfield, Charles Barfield and Mildred Barfield.
She is survived by: her sons, Wayne (Melinda Howell) of Tifton, Michael Howell (Craig) of Tifton and Shannon Howell of Tifton; her brother Gerald; her sisters-in-law, Carolyn Barfield and Mamie Barfield; her grandchildren, Chance (Leia Howell), Dr. Will Howell, Jacey (Chad Brooks), Courtney (Amy Howell), Scott (Laura Moore), Shelley Moore (Allison) and Caleb Whitworth; her great grandchildren, Allie Brooks, Analeigh Brooks, Jace Howell, Gracie Howell, Cam Howell, Dawson Adams, Madison Adams and Henry Whitworth; and her nieces, Betty Ann Lindsey and Hollie Cowan. She is also survived by her husband, her children and her grandchildren and various pets.
