He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Vaughan, Sr. and Pauline Kiser Vaughan; his wife Mary E. Borum Hilburn; his daughter Wanda Vaughan; and his stepchildren, John Hilburn, Jean Reynolds and Thomas Hilburn.
He is survived by: his son Charles Vaughan; his brother Kenneth Vaughan; and his stepchildren, Joyce Morris, Gloria James, Penny Hilliard (Donald), Bill Hilburn (Elaine), Robert Hilburn, James Hilburn and Paul Hilburn. He is also survived by numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
