He was predeceased by: his parents, C. J. Chastain and Carolyn Byers Chastain. He is survived by: his wife Nancy Davis Chastain of Ellijay; his daughter Katherine Mize (Justin) of Ellijay; his brothers, Carroll Chastain of Ellijay and Jeff Chastain of Ellijay; and his granddaughter Brooke Mize.
