It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nancy Ruth Akins of Ellijay, Georgia, born in Tacoma, Washington, who passed away on July 1, 2024, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Nancy Ruth leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Nancy Ruth may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Martin Craig and Ruth L. Whitaker Craig; and her husband Tony Akins. She is survived by: her children, Tony Akins, Jr. of Ellijay, Scott Akins of Ellijay, Chet Akins of Gulf Shores, Alabama and Debra Wilson of Jacksonville, AL; and her siblings, Mike Craig of Alaska, Walt Craig of Alaska, Donna Hablutzel of California and Martha Bannatyne of Alaska. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
