He was predeceased by: his father Richard Abercrombie; his son Mitchell Abercrombie; and his brothers, Clyde Abercrombie, Roy Abercrombie, Herman Abercrombie, Otis Abercrombie and Hoyt Abercrombie.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jean Evans Abercrombie; his sons, Michael (Tonya Abercrombie) of Ellijay and Scotty (Karla Abercrombie) of Ellijay; his siblings, James Abercrombie, Rosa Lee Burgess, Elsie Kowitz and Mattie Hood; and his grandsons, Dawson Abercrombie and Dylan Abercrombie.
