He was predeceased by: his mother Deborah Jean Defoor Dotson (Defoor); and his grandparents, Cecil, Geraldine Defoor, Jessie and Rethia Dotson.
He is survived by: his father James Hubert; his wife Cindy Jones Dotson of Ellijay, GA; his daughters, Abby Padgett (Austin) of Ellijay, GA, Anna Pearl Dotson of Ellijay, GA and Daddy James Dotson (Jim) of Ellijay, GA; and his sister Brandie Thomas (Bryan) of Blue Ridge, GA. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins.
