He was predeceased by: his father Alfred Western Cantrell; and his siblings, Harold Cantrell, Estes Cantrell, Howard Cantrell and Lois DeFoor.
He is survived by: his wife Glenda Lambert Cantrell of Ellijay; his daughter Connie Alger of Athens; his siblings, Lewis Cantrell of Ellijay, Shirley Suddeth of Ellijay and Carolyn Teague of Ellijay; and his grandchildren, Ellie Alger, Campbell Alger and Nate Alger.
