He was predeceased by: his father Rolland Petty; his wife Willa Dean Petty; and his brother Gerald Petty. He is survived by: his son David L. Petty (Erika) of Ellijay; and his sisters, Carol Ward and Patricia Scnyder. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
