He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Cape and Ida Lee Weaver Cape. He is survived by: his wife Lauren Cape; his children, David R. (Lanette Cape), Stephen (Wanda Cape), Joel (Margaret Cape), Christopher (Crystal Guay) and Bryde; his son-in-law Kris Reece of Ellijay, GA; his sister Margie; and his brother-in-law Wayne Settle of Greenville, GA. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bernhardt Funeral Home (163 River St, Ellijay, GA 30540). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home (163 River St, Ellijay, GA 30540).
