With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Clara Ogal Nelson of Ellijay, Georgia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey Cardd and Audrey Bell Cardd; her husband Thomas Howard Nelson; and her brother Thomas Cardd. She is survived by: her siblings, Stella Charles, Martha Pracht (Richard), Jimmy Cardd, Linda Rackley (Jerry), Arlean Cronan (Randy) and Lorene Martin (Johnny); her children, Teresa Allen (Roy) of Ellijay, Charlotte Osborne (Wayne) of Ooltewah, TN and Rickey Nelson (Stephanie) of Ellijay; her grandchildren, Candrice Palmour (Charles), Kristin Taffin (David), Ashley Barr (Chris), Ashley Low (Sam), Lori Brandon (Casey), Lacey Hartley (Matthew), Noel Gill (Josh) and Braelyn Nelson; and her great grandchildren, Jyrdan Rogers (Carson), Austin Palmour, Josh Taffin, Nathan Taffin, David Taffin, Tyson May, Katelyn Gill, Nathaniel Gill, Cole Gill, Jasper Barr, Kennedi Barr, Raegan Barr, Emmalyn Brandon, Wyatt Brandon, Molly Brandon, Saydee Low, Brecklee Low and Ryleigh Hartley. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Bernhardt Funeral Home (163 River St, Ellijay, GA 30540). A funeral service was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home (163 River St, Ellijay, GA 30540).
Food will be accepted; however, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Gilmer CLC @183 Bobcat Trail or P.O. Box 471 Ellijay, GA 30540 in memory of Mrs. Nelson.
