She was predeceased by: her parents, John "Pink" Pinkney Weaver and Theodocia Weaver; her husband Escolee Odell Newberry; her children, Frankie Newberry and Vernice Newberry; and her siblings, Arlin Weaver, Buford Weaver, Florence Kimsey, Ruby Mooney and Artie Newberry.
She is survived by: her children, Danny Newberry, Wilma Green (Layton), Thelma Champion, Faye Mansfield, Vickie McClure and Vera Southern; and her sister Evelyn Knight. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren, and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, December 29th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Bernhardt Funeral Home (163 River St, Ellijay, GA 30540). A funeral service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
