He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Lee Wilson Sr. and Effie Choplin Wilson Wright; his stepfather Joseph Hansel Wright; and his brothers, Robert Lee Wilson Jr., Forest Jackson Wilson and Paul Leonard Wilson.
He is survived by: his wife Penelope Day Wilson; his children, Charles Franklin Wilson Jr., Mark Anthony Wilson, Ronald Dean Wilson, Randal Leon Wilson, Penelope Leigh Wilson-Weaver and Connie Ann Elmore; his stepdaughter Tracey Alstead Barton Field; and his sister Daphne Greene Wright. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
