Theresa Regina Purvis Obituary
Theresa Regina Purvis, 32, affectionately known as "T," was called home by her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 2. She was born in Savannah, Georgia on October 10, 1986 to Gary and Eleanor Patton Purvis.
Theresa attended Saint Peter the Apostle Catholic School from kindergarten through eighth grade. She excelled in sports and academics there and at Savannah Christian Preparatory High School, where she graduated in 2005. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business and was a member of Pi Sigma Epsilon professional fraternity. She went on to earn her Master of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University. Theresa also recently earned her Bachelor of Science in Radiological Sciences from Armstrong State University and was a member of Lambda Nu National Radiologic and Imaging Sciences Honor Society.
Theresa was a loving and compassionate daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She loved so many and was loved by so many more. Theresa had an adventurous spirit and a generous heart. Her beautiful smile and outgoing personality lit up a room. She had an energy that people remembered from just a single encounter. Theresa loved the ocean and her four-legged child, Nahla. During the summer, Theresa was on the beach, in a boat, or on a paddle board.
Most importantly, Theresa had a deep love for her family and cherished the time they spent together telling jokes, playing games, and enjoying family dinners. The relationship she shared with her sisters was like no other. They had a bond that could not be broken. Theresa was Marie and Carrie's baby sister. Together, they enjoyed concerts, especially Dave Matthews Band, traveling in search of good restaurants and shopping, and seeing what shenanigans awaited them.
Theresa had a deep love for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She attended the Downtown Campus of Compassion Christian Church.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Henry and Hilda Patton; her paternal grandmother, Doris Purvis; and her aunt, Deb Hightower. In addition to her parents, Theresa is survived by her sisters, Marie Purvis Hartshorn and Carrie Muriel Purvis; her niece, Marin Campbell Hartshorn; her nephew, Aidric Troy Hartshorn; and her grandfather, Ardie Purvis. Along with her immediate family, she leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and a large group of loving and devoted friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 7 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel, 4605 Highway 80 East, Savannah, Georgia. Rosary service will start at 6:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, February 8 at St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church in Savannah.
Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Lower Black Creek Church Cemetery, 1095 Shumantown Road, Ellabell, Georgia.
