He is survived by: his daughters, Nena (Ricky Peoples), Janet (Sammy Chavis) and Scheryl (Ernie Mosley); his brother O. C. Benson of Savannah; and his grandchildren, Christopher Chavis, Michael Chavis, Jeremy Chavis, Amanda Moore, Miranda Burnsed and Andrew Harrelson. He is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
