With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Zoras Thornton Jr. (Elberton, Georgia), born in Hartwell, Georgia, who passed away on September 14, 2021 at the age of 81. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Zoras Thornton, Sr. and Louise Porter Thornton; his wife Ida Mae Johnson Thornton; his sisters, Beverly and Janice; his stepson Hoke Hill; and his grandson Bryant Keith Hill.
He is survived by: his daughter Angela White of Hartwell, GA; his stepchildren, Bessie of Elberton, Kevin Gartrell of Elberton, Donald of Elberton, Beverly Hill of Elberton, Mary of Elberton, Lonnie Saddler of Elberton, Willie Hill of Seattle, WA and Calvin Hill of Augusta; his brothers, Eddie (Betty Thornton), Clarence (Thornton), William (Shelby Thornton) and Scottie Thornton of Elberton; his brother-in-law Saul Gaines; and his grandson Keshawn Saddler. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
