Phelps of Elberton, GA.; her adoptive son Trevon Fortson of Elberton, GA; her brother Derrick K. Barnes (Valerie) of Port Wentworth, GA; her aunts, Mildred Smith-Harris of Evanston, IL and Carolyn Smith-Fletcher of Savannah, GA; her nieces, Naeemah Dixon, Camille Mack and Jasmine Barnes; and her godchildren, Vernyeica Sims, Shirese Sims, Taquanda Bernard (Ty) and Nicholas Sims. She is also survived by six great nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
