He was predeceased by: his parents, Joel Carson Watkins, Sr. and Mary Nell Kellar Simmons; and his brother Joel Carson Watkins, Jr.. He is survived by: his children, Tracy Joel Watkins (Stephanie Hobbs Watkins) and Samantha Jo Watkins-Garcia (Stacy Jean Watkins Duerr); and his siblings, Marvin Roach, Christopher Simmons, Kenneth Watkins, Wanda White and Anita Gilley. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
