It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ray Mattox (Elberton, Georgia), who passed away on January 4, 2025, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Zelma Lee Noggle Mattox; his parents, Milton Parks Mattox and Annie Ruth Gunter Mattox; his children, Kevin Ray Mattox and Myranda Lee Mattox; his stepgrandchildren, Ashley Bond and Regis Bond; and his brothers, Milton Mattox, Gene Mattox and Johnny Mattox.
He is survived by: his daughter Jeneine; his son-in-law Gary Bond; his grandchildren, Brittany, Zach Fields, Christie and Steven Phillips; his great grandchildren, Landon Fields, Olivia Fields, Ameila Phillips and Elliot Phillips; his stepgreat-grandchildren, Bentley Bond, Brantlee Bond, Maverick White, William Bond, Asher Bond and Sutton Bond; and his siblings, Morris Mattox and Martha Hall. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Berry Funeral Home (1265 Washington Hwy, Elberton, GA 30635). A funeral service was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Bethany Baptist Church (3193 Centerville Rd, Lexington, GA 30648). A burial was held on Monday, January 6th 2025 at the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery (3193 Centerville Rd, Lexington, GA 30648).
