With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Peggy Jean Leard Scarborough of Elberton, Georgia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 19, 2024 at the age of 84. She was predeceased by: her parents, Luther Leard and Callie Eunice Hunter Leard; her husband John Tom Scarborough; and her siblings, Joe Leard, Gus Leard and Laura Mae Jordan.
She is survived by: her children, Vicki (Kenneth Little), James (Gale Scarborough), Arelia (Randy Lane), Deborah Jordan (late Jimmy Jordan) of Elberton, GA and John Paul (Kelly Scarborough); her sisters, Kathryn Rousey of Bowman, GA and Marie Saxon of Dewy Rose, GA; her grandchildren, Amber Little, Brooke, Eric Johanson, Katie Smith, Sandra Scarborough, Will Bundy, Cameron Scarborough, Christopher and Jessica Black; and her great grandchildren, Brynner Jerrell, Erica Johanson, Eli Johanson, Jaleah Scarborough, Mallory Smith, Addy Eakin, Raegan Bundy, Skylair Black, Ava Black and Benjamin Black. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
