It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Mary Ann Dean Smith (Elberton, Georgia), born in Franklin, Georgia, who passed away at the age of 87, on March 28, 2022. She was predeceased by: her husband Joe Mitchell Smith; her parents, James Howard Dean and Nettie Dove Dean Gowder; and her sisters, Katie Turner and Anna Roukoski.

She is survived by: her children, Randy, Peggy Smith of Elberton, Cathy and Keith Holloman of Hartwell; her sister Mildred Mattox of Elberton; her grandchildren, Jake, Chrissy Smith, Brooke, Heys Wade, Megan and Justin Vermeer; and her great grandchildren, Ava Blakey, Tucker Smith, Max Smith, Hayden Vermeer and Owen Wade. She is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

The family is at the residence of Randy and Peggy Smith, Jaudon Road, Elberton, and will receive friends at Berry Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 29, from 6:00-8:00p.m.
