She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Joseph William "Billy" Scales; her grandparents, Benjamin and Mollie Thornton; her adoptive parent Caron "Tip"; her daughters, Billie Carol Scales Craig and Augusta; her grandchildren, Bill Craig of Bethel, CT, Shawn Callaway of Elberton, Wesley Callaway of Elberton, Cathy Craig of Evans and Casey Callaway Moon of Elberton; her nieces and nephews, Alice House, Virginia Booth, Bruce Thornton, David Thornton, Tim Prince and Ricky Wheatley; and her siblings, Ruby Mae Haygood, Mary Eaven and George Thornton. She was also cherished by nine great-grandchildren.
