We are sad to announce that on January 30, 2023, at the age of 103, Marietta Elizabeth Mills Gaines-Bailey of Elberton, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Moses Edmund Mills and Mary Caroline Scarborough Mills; her husbands, John Wesley Gaines and Still Y. "Mutt" Bailey; and her siblings, Jack Mills, Bessie Mills, Edna Bond, Charles Mills, William Mills, Naomi Olson, Florence Anderson Alexander and Ned Mills.
She is survived by: her son Jim Gaines (Pat) of Burnesville, NC; her granddaughter Molly Graves (Chris Hamilton); her great grandchildren, Ava, Selah, Riya, Lyren and Stellan; her nephew Doug Anderson (Becky); and her great-nieces, Denise and Lisa.
Flowers are accepted and contributions may be made in her memory to the Elberton Salvation Army, 262 N. McIntosh Street, Elberton, GA 30635.
