She was predeceased by: her parents, Doyt Broadus Maxwell and Emma Irene David Maxwell. She is survived by: her siblings, Winston Maxwell, Wayne Maxwell, Stanley Maxwell, Cleve Maxwell and Gail Maxwell Mann; her husband Ben J. Rice; her children, Jeffrey'Scott' Rice (Theresa Bryant) of Bowman, Bryan Allen Rice (Maria Jones) of Bowman, Lori Rice Mize (Phil) of Elberton and Lenee Corene Rice of Bowman; her brother Terry Maxwell (Donna) of Bowman; her sister-in-law Letha Dickerson of Bowman; and her grandchildren, Hannah Walker (Rhett), Corbin McKellar (Tyler), Courtney Smith (Jacob), Blake Kelley (Hayden), Elizabeth Beard, Walker Rice, Lauren Kelley, Abigail Pearson (Fischer) and Jessie Coleman. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Berry Funeral Home (1265 Washington Hwy, Elberton, GA 30635). A celebration of life was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Rehoboth Baptist Church (3061 Deep Creek Rd, Bowman, GA 30624). A burial was held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 at the Hillcrest Cemetery.
