He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Clay Ward and Tommie Jean Gaines Ward; and his brother Harold David Ward. He is survived by: his daughter Cristal Leigh Ward of Elberton; and his sisters, Mary Jean "Jeannie" W. Ficquett (Fred) of Elberton and Cecelia "Sam" W. Gerrard (Sam) of Anderson, SC. He is also survived by four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
