It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joyce Franklin Young (Elberton, Georgia), who passed away on December 5, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Floyd Franklin and Eula Bell Dickerson Franklin; her husband Joseph "Jody" Jackson Young; her sister Catherine Franklin; her granddaughter Kelly Thornton Butler (Dustin); and her great grandchild Braylon Butler.
She is survived by: her children, David (Debbie Young), Dennis (Kay Young) and Teresa; her son-in-law Bruce Thornton of Stockbridge, GA; and her grandchildren, Bryan Thornton (Maria), Stephanie Wolfsohn, Paul Young (Claire), Bridget Hilliard (Joseph) and Blake Young (Ashley). She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
Due to Covid-19 there will be no formal visitation and a private graveside service to celebrate Joyce's life at Elmhurst Cemetery.
