He was predeceased by: his parents, Hodges Lee Heard and Martha Fortson Heard; his wife Clara Bell Rucker; and his grandson Timothy Heard. He is survived by: his children, Karen Lynette (Carey) of Statham, GA and Randy Heard (Christina) of Columbia, SC; his siblings, Catherine Hollis (Harold), Edna Allen (Danny), Nikki Quinn, Steve Heard, Ira Heard and Hodges Heard, Jr.; his siblings-in-law, Dr. Gregory Rucker (Janice), Rev. Dale Sanders and Linda Fortson; his grandchildren, Chelsea Heard, Jadien Heard, Sierra Heard, Darius Ardister (Keon) and Carey Bone, Jr.; and his great grandchildren, Karter Ardister, Kehlani Daniels and Nore Daniels. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
