He is survived by: his wife Helen Genette Willis Fortson; his children, Gilbert Fortson, III (Lequonzo), Gabriel Bernard Fortson and Amari La'Quasia Fortson; his siblings, Ralph Fortson (Lucille), Willie Mae Davenport-Mitchell (Ronnie), Shirley Ann Thornton (George Lee) and Louise Walton (Frederick); and his brothers-in-law, Terry Willis (Nancy) and Horice Willis, Jr. (Marlene). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
