Doris Floyd Fortson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Floyd Fortson of Elberton, Georgia, born in Canon, Georgia, who passed away on November 12, 2023, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Floyd and Maude Hall Floyd; her husband Charles E. Fortson; and her siblings, Alton Ray Floyd, Margaret F. Floyd and Mildred F. Pace.

She is survived by: her daughters, Judy Fortson Howell (Larry Howell) of North Augusta, SC and Peggy Fortson (John Carrick) of Alto, GA; and her grandchildren, Jennifer (Duke Walker), Jason (Rhonda Howell), Kelly (Adam Banks), Jamie (Ben Purdy) and Pepe (Tripp Edwards). She is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.
