It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Donald Franklin Byrd Sr. (Elberton, Georgia), who passed away on July 23, 2022, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Grover Cleveland Byrd and Grace Elizabeth Erwin Byrd; his children, Donald Franklin Byrd, Jr. and Tina Marie Byrd; and his siblings, Helen Hoyle, Bob Byrd, Jerry Byrd, Mary Sue Mooneyham and Carlton Byrd.
He is survived by: his wife Ralene Frankie Allred Byrd; his children, Lynda Byrd, Lonnie Byrd and Lori Byrd Rose; and his siblings, Dean Byrd, Larry Byrd, Betty Murray and Carolyn Thomas. He is also survived by four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
