He was predeceased by: his wife Debra White Purcell; his parents, Charles Allen Purcell and June Wiggins Purcell; and his sister Lisa Garner. He is survived by: his children, James "Jim", Beth Purcell of Elberton, Marty Purcell of Locust Grove, Mike and Shannon Purcell of Monticello; and his siblings, Lovena, Steve Mallory of North Carolina and Allen Purcell of Missouri. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
