He was predeceased by: his parents, Dexter Mattox and Catherine Mattox. He is survived by: his wife Betty Mattox; and his children, Linda Smith (Solomon) of Eden, William Mattox Jr. (Lynn) of Eden and Bobby Mattox (Paige) of Pooler. He is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
