He is survived by: his wife Donna Herring; his children, Donna Herring Kinnison (Dot) and Dakota Junior Emmett Herring; his stepchildren, Gene Mason (Nikki), Chris Mason (Dixie), Dan Adair (Casey), Amanda McElroy (Micah), Rhonda Gibbs (Wayne) and Jessica Martinez-Vicente (Kyle); his siblings, William Herring, Gwendolyn Barnes and Betty Joyce Powell (Larry); his nephew Ricky Barnes; and his niece Betty Ann Barnes.
