He was predeceased by: his parents, Jesse Bernard Lewis and Mary Margaret Lewis; and his sisters, Kristine and Judy. He is survived by: his significant other Janet Parks Lewis; and his children, Thomas Lewis (Bridget), Jill Hild (Kelly), Joe Rodriguez (Christine), Andrew Rodriguez (Danyelle) and Michael Lewis.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations are sent to American Lung Association or Lake Oconee Humane Society.
