She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Couch and Minnis Couch; and her siblings, JoAnn Davis and Jimmy Couch. She is survived by: her husband Lake Frank "Benny" Ballew; her sister Margaret Ponedia "Penny" Welch; her daughters, Kim Sharee Smartt, Tracy Dawn Whitehead (Brad) and Tricia Ann Sumpter (Andy); and also, Sydney Barnes (Morgan), Logan Spindle (Lauren), Tristan Sumpter (Becca), Nicole Smartt, Trinity Sumpter and Colton Sumpter.

In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her memory.
