He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Tally Whitaker, Sr. and Burksie Ridgway Whitaker; his wife Nancy Witt Whitaker; his children, Donald Frank "Donnie" Whitaker, Jr. and Sherri Lynn Whitaker; and his brothers, Joseph Tally Whitaker, Jr. and Dan Whitaker.
He is survived by: his son Kenneth Lloyd "Kenny" Whitaker (Julie Reynolds); his siblings, Robert Hodges Whitaker, George Douglas Whitaker (Sue) and Elsie Vivian Schell; and also Andrea Burge Price. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
