She was predeceased by: her parents, John Wesley and Dora Brock; her husband Arthur Wynn Cox; her mother-in-law Frankie A. Edwards; and her nephew Ethen Richardson.

She is survived by: her daughter Christy Knight Burgess (Scott); her grandsons, Brandon Knight (Tiffany), Dain Burgess and Jake Burgess; her great grandchild Declan Knight; her siblings, Betty Corbitt of Eatonton, Syble Richardson (Homer) of Charleston, SC, Johnny Brock (Shirley) of Eatonton and Sherry Brock of Eatonton; and her aunt Bunny.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the Ethen Richardson Foundation in her memory.
