He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Gatlin and Alma Jennings Gatlin; his wife Ruby Moody Gatlin; his aunt Emma Gatlin; and his siblings, Flora Lee Stiles and William Terry "Buddy" Gatlin.
He is survived by: his children, Jack Gatlin, Lisa Gatlin, Leigh Ann Kelly and Larae Gatlin Mullis (John Schlicher); his brother Gary J. Woods (Dorothy); his sister-in-law Edna Moody Broxson; his grandchildren, Andrew Kelly, Colin Gatlin Mullis, Laura Leigh Kirk, Austin Kelly and Eric Mullis; his great grandchildren, Wynter Leigh Kirk and Saydie Ann Kirk; and his niece Terri Stork (Jay). He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
