He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Frank Arlington and Mary Nell Phillips Carpenter; his wife Wanda Grafton Carpenter; his sons, Scott Carpenter, Corey Carpenter (Kim) and Joshua Carpenter (Amy); his grandchildren, Emmitt Carpenter, Kenny Clark, Caroline Carpenter, Cole Carpenter, Cason Carpenter, Anna Kate Carpenter, Finn Carpenter and Henry Carpenter; his great grandchild Emma Carpenter; his siblings, Kathy Turpin (Dan), Carol Eakins (Randy) and Phillip Carpenter (Russell Gross); and his siblings-in-law, Greg Grafton (Deloris) and Sheba Grafton.
