It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sharlene Grier (East Point, Georgia), born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on June 19, 2022, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Byars and Hallie Mable Edwards. She is survived by: her siblings, Boykin Edwards (Starlot), Ralph Edwards and Hallie Victoria Dupree (Morris); her children, Gary A. Thornton, Kelvin L. Thornton and Theda C. Jackson-TJ; and her grandchildren, David Thornton, Jasmyne Jackson, Asha Thornton, Daniel Thornton, Maya Thornton and Zara Thornton. She is also survived by nieces, and nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
