He is survived by: his mother Beatrice James; his son Chris James of Dublin; his grandchildren, Donta Conley of Huntsville, Stacey Watkins of Huntsville, Chris James, Jr. of Huntsville and Dooney Watkins of Huntsville; his brother Johnny; and his friend Corine O'Neal. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
